“When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”

– Leonardo Da Vinci

Most people at some point in their lives look up at the skies and say, “I wonder what it would be like to fly” or “I wish I could fly like the birds.” What most people don’t realize is how simple it actually is to do just that, Fly! All it takes is a little initiative on your part and a willingness to learn something that you probably always thought would be out of reach. Flying today is easier than ever: there are low cost airplanes, a surplus of knowledgeable instructors and airports dot the landscape in just about every major city and rural town throughout the United States. Whether you are looking to achieve a lifelong dream of flying or just want to pursue a new hobby, you have come to the right place. The most efficient way to begin your flight training is with the Sport Pilot License. Therefore, that is what we are going to concentrate on in the following sections. The Sport Pilot Certificate was created by the FAA in 2004 as a way to help boost general aviation by making flight training more accessible to the masses while lowering costs. The necessary experience to become a pilot was cut in half compared to the previously required Private Pilot Certificate. This has helped boost the aviation community and continues to foster the growth of pilots around the country.

YOU can get your pilot’s license for under $5,000!

The Airplane Factory is proud to be a provider of the Sling LSA, a Light Sport Airplane built in South Africa and accepted by the FAA as a suitable training platform for flight students. If you would like to schedule an introductory flight and are located in the Los Angeles area please contact us and we’ll get you in the Sling as soon as possible. One of our instructors will be very excited to introduce you to the world of aviation while providing an educational and enjoyable experience. And after you’ve completed your training you can become a member of the Sling Flying Club and enjoy the many benefits of belonging to a community of active pilots who all love the Sling.

If you happen to be located in another area please check out the sportpilot.org list of instructors to find someone in your area to help you reach your goals.
