Sling 4 is Up to the Challenge
The Sling 4 seater is The Airplane Factory’s latest creation. Designed and built in South Africa by the company’s ambitious founders, it is currently making its way Around the World (ATW). Heading East from South Africa they will fly across the Indian Ocean, through Japan, across the dangerous waters of the Bering Sea, through the United States, across the North Atlantic and finally back home via Western Africa. It’s quite a feat of accomplishment to fly a small, 4 seat airplane around the world, much more if it’s the prototype of a new design. However, they do have some experience on their side as they flew their first creation ATW back in 2009, becoming the first people to fly a 2 seat LSA all the way around. Check out the website at www.airplanefactory.co.za/Sling4ATW.asp for further details and to watch LIVE Progress of their current trip. You can also follow us on facebook or twitter at the links below for periodic updates. By the way, feel free to ask the guys any questions about the trip as they will be available to answer your questions whenever they’re not high overhead.
